David Evans has claimed a third straight A Night At The Darts group win to put himself into pole position to finish top of the overall standings after a dramatic end to proceedings.
Fallon Sherrock put herself into the position to claim her first group win after a sublime night which saw her back up victories over Kyle McKinstry (5-4) and Martin Adams (5-1) with a brilliant win against one of the best in the field since the tournaments began, Wessel Nijman in a 5-2 victory.
This included a 92 average, four 180's and 5/8 on the doubles which made it three in a row. The big game was to come though and that was against 'Stretch'.
It was Evans who took it in a 5-3 win which would keep the top spot very much up for grabs going into the last few games. The final game saw it brought to the wire which saw a big task for Evans.
He was facing Martin Adams and the equation was simple. If he took a 5-0 or 5-1 victory, he would finish top and if he lost anymore legs, it would be Sherrock who would win.
A good display from Evans where he took his chances on the doubles (5/12) saw him seal it and deny Sherrock at the last moment.
A Night At The Darts is a competition that runs in conjunction with the Icons of Darts League. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.
Each evening like the day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win.
