Aaron Dyer was seemingly caught cheating in an online darts tournament but has denied this allegation after it was pointed out by many including professional darts players that something wasn't right in his final against Darren Johnson.
Dyer, who has previously won a Development Tour and
two Challenge Tour titles competed in the tournament and reached the final; it was recorded that when he threw his third dart, his hand was in the shot.
According to reports from other players involved, they had their suspicions after he was retrieving his darts very fast and hit high averages but it seemed to be more noticeable when the tournament organiser asked him to move his camera as it was obscuring doubles.
''Well unfortunately tonight it has come to our attention that hard work and effort we all out in to making these competitions to give everyone a nice night of darts for hard earned money has been made a mockery tonight by a certain individual. Aaron Dyer tonight has confirmed our suspicions that he’s been cheating throughout the competition. Standing around 2 to 3 feet away from his board. A lot of people noticed it tonight in the final and we have been able to confirm he was in fact cheating.''
''The money he won from tonight’s competition will be added to the prize pot next week for the 63 players who where in tonight’s competition. All I can say is we are extremely sorry that this individual has tried to ruin our comps that have been running so great. We won’t let this affect our competitions and let this be a lesson'', the organisers wrote on their Facebook page.
The organisers have since confronted Dyer with the proof; but he denies this accusation. He said that he leans that far forward that his hand can be seen on camera. He refused to record himself to prove it wrong; following that he blocked the tournament organiser on Facebook as a result.
