The PDC has once again released an alternative world ranking. Only the last 200 played legs of each Tour Card holder are taken into account. And that results in a completely different number one than the official world rankings.
On the official world rankings he is currently only 23rd, but on the alternative world rankings Anderson is in first place. 'The Flying Scotsman' has been piling up high averages lately at the Players Championships and won one at the end of September as well. The 53-year-old Scot is the only one to reach a 100+ average during his last 200 legs played (100.63). He threw his doubles at 42.22%. So Anderson starts the World Grand Prix, which will start next week in Leicester, full of confidence.
Just below in second place we find Wessel Nijman. Nijman won Players Championship 24 in early October by defeating Stephen Bunting 8-5 in the final. He achieved an average of 99.14 during his last 200 legs played and threw his doubles at 44.91%. In his first year as a Tour Card holder, Nijman has now moved up to 67th place in the official world rankings.

In the top three we find another Dutchman with Danny Noppert. During his last 200 legs played, 'The Freeze' achieved an average of 99.12, only slightly lower than Nijman, and threw his doubles at 42.69%. In the official world rankings, Noppert is currently ranked 16th.
Just outside the top four is Michael van Gerwen. 'Mighty Mike,' who has had some excellent weeks with wins at the Hungarian Darts Trophy and Players Championship 21, achieved an average of 98.16 during his last 200 legs played. Especially notable is the high average (47.97%) on his doubles. Van Gerwen is currently camped in third place in the official world rankings.
