"Gezzy can blame himself" - Michael van Gerwen has no sympathy for Gerwyn Price's troubles with the crowd

Gerwyn Price has found the Ally Pally crowd consistently on his back in recent World Championships, famously coming out in ear defenders at last year's event.

In a recent interview, the Welshman proposed the idea to move around the World Championships every year. “I know they have the history with Ally Pally but times move on, things change. It used to be at the Circus Tavern years ago and they moved on. With the way the game is going, and the strength-in-depth in every country in all corners of the world, the tournament needs to have a new home now and again,'' Price explained.

For Price's big rival, Michael van Gerwen however, any abuse Price gets from the crowd is something he's brought onto himself. "This venue is iconic," responds 'Mighty Mike'. "Of course it's good to go world wide but I think the PDC is doing enough with the World Series and events like that."

"With all due respect, Gezzy can also blame himself a little bit for getting all the boos," continues the three-time former world champion. "If you keep doing this (cupping the ears ed.) to the crowd, then you're going to get it and I keep telling him that."
