"Going to take someone really good to beat me": Chris Dobey confident after statement 110 average display

Chris Dobey, with a breathtaking performance, provided a showdown against German number one Martin Schindler at the last sixteen at the German Darts Championship.

Dobey sparked his hunt for his first European Tour title with his third-highest average ever. 'Hollywood' defeated Mickey Mansell 6-2 on Saturday afternoon thanks to an absurd average of 110.64. The darter from Bedlington also needed only seven darts on the double to secure his six legs.

Dobey fell behind 1-2, but evened the score with an 11-darter before taking a 3-2 lead with another 11-darter. He then doubled the lead to 4-2 with a 14-darter. This was followed by a nice 87 finish on the bullseye, before Dobey decided the match with a 14-darter.

"I felt great," reflected Dobey. "Mickey is hard to play against but he's a fantastic player so I knew what I had to do and I'm just happy to get that win.

"I'm in some good form - I've won the last Players Championship and I'm playing well. I'm happy and if I can keep playing like that it's going to take someone really good to beat me."
