Damon Heta eased into the quarter-finals of the World Matchplay. 'The Heat' defeated Brendan Dolan 11-1 in the second round.
"Brendan just didn't turn up," Heta opened. "Look, he's beaten Michael van Gerwen on the big stage, he'll take that to the bank. But for him not to turn up, he'll be very disheartened. There are a lot of people that beat Michael and then don't go on and do the business."
Heta is in the quarterfinals of the World Matchplay for the first time. "I'm just a consistent player going about my business," he says. "This is the furthest I've been so everything from now is just a bonus to be fair. Whether I win or lose I'm definitely coming away with positives."
With the top four seedings out of the tournament, it does give more opportunities for players like Heta. "These players aren't always going to win are they, other players are creeping up. There're vulnerable they are beaten on a weekly basis on Pro Tours and Euro Tours."
