Max Hopp commented on the issue after talking to Voltage about it. "I think by now he can live with it quite well," said the Maximiser, referring to the fact that the PDC has invited him to the US Darts Masters, which will be played at the beginning of June.
"Rob Cross probably won't forget this trip for the rest of his life," Hopp said. "And also a great sign from the PDC: We haven't forgotten you, we see you, we see your outstanding performances and we just reward that with a trip to New York."
Hopp also spoke with Cross' manager Rab Bain. He told the Maximiser: "We worked a bit on his (Cross') confidence during the week because I told him he got the message about playing in the US Darts Masters. He said, 'Yeah, it's nice, but Premier League would have been nicer in a way."
"Rob, why don't you forget about it. You've been playing excellent darts again for six months now. You're on the right track and you're number five in the world. You have to keep it up for another year and then you'll be back in it next year," Bain is said to have replied, according to Hopp.
"I think even just a sentence like that, that can trigger a lot. You can see Cross is playing great darts with confidence," Hopp concluded.
