Kim Huybrechts continued his return to form with a superb win over Michael Smith to open up the
World Series of Darts Finals.
After qualifying through the Tour Card Holders Qualifier, he went on to star in Barnsley and admitted that a change in mentality is all he needed.
"It's all in here (points at head). I've been playing well lately, I've been playing some really good games but I haven't won them. Last ProTours I've been winning at them and it made so much change in my mind and I think that's a massive difference when your mentality is strong you can do what you want sometimes.
Asked about beating Michael van Gerwen during the ProTour, he admitted that he has had harder matches that week.
"I've had harder games that week, I've played Luke Woodhouse and I had to do everything to win that game. It's not just Michael van Gerwen, it's not just the big names on tour. Just to get that semi-final and Quarter-Final the way I did meant the World to me."
But while he's glad he's back on form, he isn't making any promises yet about returning to the Premier League star previously on the top table of world darts.
"I'm playing good but I'm not going to say I'm close to that Kim Huybrechts. I'm playing good, the confidence is good but next week it could be gone again. But I'm enjoying the game again and if that Kim Huybrechts is back, he can do a lot of damage."
