Michael van Gerwen will take on
Rob Cross in quarter-finals on Thursday night in Aberdeen. 'Voltage' is virtually out of the
Premier League Darts playoff race, but that does not mean he plans to sit back in the remaining weeks.
''The Premier League is a tough school, but I have loved being here,'' Cross said in conversation with pdc.tv. “The last six weeks were disappointing results wise, but I cannot grumble. I have really enjoyed being back in the mix."
Cross himself started the Premier League Darts well with 11 points after the first six nights. After that, however, things took a turn for the worse and he lost six quarterfinals in a row, losing vital ground in the race for the too 4.
''I had a three-week spell where I was a little bit off, and it cost me. It’s not quite worked out, but I’m not here to make excuses,'' Cross says honestly. ''There’s still plenty to play for over the next three weeks, and I think my game is in a good place, so I believe I can be a bit of a spoiler now.”
