Five-time World Champion, Raymond van Barneveld was sent packing on the opening night of the World Grand Prix, with German ace, Martin Schindler accounting for him in Leicester.
But for Schindler, he saw it as a 'good draw' and one that he should win despite the prowess of the doyen of Dutch darts.
"It was a nervy start and for me, it was also a nervy game. I know when I saw the draw, it's a good draw. We're talking Raymond van Barneveld, but if you look at other players, I think they're just kind of better than Raymond is. He's obviously very experienced," said Schindler post match.
"I want to go up there and play my game. It doesn't matter who I'm playing against. Raymond is definitely one of the players I saw first in darts."
"I felt like I can definitely win that game and I should win that game. I was looking forward to this, maybe it was the ignite I needed to get the win today."
Speaking on Barney's game too, he said that he saw that he was struggling slightly in terms of actually getting the double in to start.
"I think he was not playing bad, he needed some times to get started. Also in this format, he was struggling."
