Luke Littler has been the breakout star of the 2024 PDC World Darts Championships so far. Stunning wins over former Lakeside champion Christian Kist and reigning UK Open champion Andrew Gilding have seen the 16-year-old ensure a post-Christmas return to the Ally Pally.
"The experience has been unbelievable. Social media has been popping off everywhere, I've had loads of new followers and it's just been a great experience these past 48-72 hours," Littler reflects in conversation with Sky Sports News. "My Snapchat is popping off with all my mates and it's so good to have the support of all my mates back home because obviously, not everyone can come and watch me, but I know the support and backing is there back home."
Quickly becoming a fan favourite with the Alexandra Palace crowd, Littler has subjected to a number of chants in his two matches so far. One of these was, 'He's got school in the morning'. Whilst live on Sky Sports News, the darting prodigy wanted to address this song in particular.
"I've done a few of my GCSE's and then I never got into college because I got my Pro Tour card off the Development Tour. I've never got into college so I don't know where they've got that from but it is funny to listen to them knowing that I've not got school in the morning and that from the start of next year, it's just all darts, darts, darts for me."
