A brilliant weekend for Jeff Smith saw the Canadian take the second North American Darts Championship win of his career, reach the final of the US Darts Masters and gain a new legion of supporters.
Sadly for Smith, he rather ran out of steam in his second final of the weekend, being whitewashed by Michael van Gerwen. "That's a long day for anybody," he told Online Darts afterwards. "It's unfortunate the way it ended up but the better player won."

"I've made so many fans here in New York it's kind of like my adopted City now," reflects Smith on what has been an ultimately positive weekend despite its disappointing end. A highlight was a stunning 167 to win the semi-final in a deciding leg against Luke Humphries.
"I couldn't believe that Bullseye went in," laughs Smith. "This is only going to get bigger."
