Jeff Smith wins 2021 CDC Continental Cup, swaps to International Qualifier status for PDC World Darts Championship

Jeff Smith won the CDC Continental Cup on Sunday in New York and received an invite to the PDC World Darts Championship.

However, he has already qualified for the tournament via the ProTour, this means he is now an International Qualifier and Jason Lowe was the lucky one to benefit.

As a result, 'The Silencer' will receive a more difficult draw as one of the International Qualifiers facing one of the ProTour names.

The former Lakeside finalist outmanoeuvred Jacob Taylor (8-6) in the final of the qualifiers after also outperforming Chuck Puleo (5-2), Adam Sevada (6-5) and David Cameron (7-6). With this title, Smith also qualified for the US Darts Masters in 2022, which was undoubtedly the motivation for him to compete in this event.
