Joe Cullen won an exhibition tournament in Scarborough, England, on Friday night. 'The Rockstar' conceded just two legs against many former champions.
Cullen defeated
Robert Thornton 4-2 to qualify for the final. In the other semifinal,
Phil Taylor settled with
Wayne Mardle (4-3). Then in the final, Cullen was too strong for Taylor, 4-0.
Many world top players play
exhibitions during this period. Not primarily for a nice extra pocket money, but also to keep up match rhythm ahead of the World Darts Championship.
