Mervyn King has dumped out defending World Matchplay champion Gary Anderson in an excellent display to continue a brilliant night of action at the Winter Gardens.

King was superb and led for the most part only for Anderson to come back and make for a brilliant conclusion.
The former semi-finalist at the Winter Gardens though produced when it mattered and is into his first TV Quarter-Final for three years, will the Blackpool crowd be bowing down the King come Sunday?
King was in the lead early on going 4-1 up on Anderson with 100 percent on the doubles in a superb start from the Bradwell ace.
He went 5-1 up from there but Anderson pulled a break of throw back to trail 5-3 and despite another two exchanges of breaks of throw saw 'The Flying Scotsman' 6-4 behind with a third 180 and a 64 finish.
Anderson continued his return to the foray as he made it parity at 6-6 after King had missed darts to go 7-5 up.
He then took a 7-6 advantage. Was Anderson about to mount a remarkable comeback? King had something to say about that as he produced a potentially pivotal 136 checkout to make it 7-7.
Anderson led again though at 8-7 up but it continued in a similar vein with King going 8-8 and after the defending champion wasted five darts at doubles, King reclaimed the lead at 9-8.
A brilliant return to the foray from King saw him on the brink at 10-8 up and from there he saw off Anderson to cap off an excellent display.
