"Loved putting the boots back on" - Gerwyn Price makes successful return to rugby pitch for charity

Gerwyn Price had a busy weekend. Between Premier League Darts and the German Darts Grand Prix, he briefly returned to Wales for a rugby match.

Price was competing at the Premier League Darts last Thursday in Belfast, where he lost 6-5 to Peter Wright in the quarterfinals. Last weekend, the German Darts Grand Prix was on the schedule in Munich, but between the two tournaments the Welshman briefly headed to Cardiff to take part in a rugby match for charity.

The 39-year-old Welshman, himself active at the highest level in rugby for several years in the past, posted on Instagram. "What a great night playing with a great bunch of lads... almost had a try as well. Loved putting the boots back on but the engine was running on fumes."

Afterwards, Price traveled on to Munich, where he was eventually stranded in the semifinals at the German Darts Grand Prix after a 7-3 defeat to Luke Humphries.
