A superior Mickey Mansell claimed the title in Group Three of the PDC Home Tour II on Wednesday. Clonoe Cyclone remained unbeaten in the third group of the online event for the lower ranked PDC Tour Card holders.
The Northern Irishman only lost five legs, while he won a maximum of 30 legs. Against Steve Brown (5-1 win, ed.) Mansell set his highest average of the day with 103.41.
Despite being it 'only' an online tournament, the former Players Championship winner gained confidence from his performance. Mansell revealed he made some changes to his equipment recently.
''I'm very pleased with how things are going. I have made a few changes lately with my technique and added a few grams to the weight of my darts'', he explained Darts World.
''Winning the group has given me confidence that the changes are for the better. Everything is going in the right direction in preparation for the final run of tournaments coming up and hopefully the World Championship.''
