Mason suggests changes to Masters format with top 32 players, set play and ranking status to improve prestige of season opener

During the broadcast of the 2023 Masters, Chris Mason suggested an idea of how he would improve the tournament even further which up to this year's edition has acted as a Premier League qualifier.

That will no longer be the case as was reported on Friday but Mason believes extending the field even further would make the tournament better.

This to 32 players after it was already extended to 24 from the initial top 16 affair it used to be. As well he would also switch to set play and make it a ranking tournament in order to add a bit more prestige.

What do you think? Should the Masters be changed especially in the wake of changes to the Premier League announcement time?
