One of the debutants at this year's Grand Slam of Darts, Stowe Buntz is the unknown property in group E alongside Peter Wright, Dave Chisnall and Stephen Bunting.
In his opening match, Buntz faces 'Snakebite' and for some, it could be a case of seeing double on the Wolverhampton stage. "A lot of people have compared me to Peter Wright, I've been called the North American Peter Wright. It will be fun for the crowd," Buntz tells Weekly Dartscast. "I'm not sure what colour shirt I'll wear but it'll be bright and hopefully both of us can have a stellar evening and put on a good show."
Qualifying through the CDC Tour, the American has also gained entry to the World Darts Championship in December. "When the draw came out that made it real you know. To play a former World Champion, the number two in the world, it started my anxiety," Buntz laughs.
With both Wright and Buntz two of the most colourful characters in the sport, their walk on together on Saturday night is sure to be something special. "Unfortunately I don't have any contact information but I've got people trying to reach out to him and hopefully we can see what he's thinking and maybe do a collaboration!" Buntz reveals. "He's an entertainer so to have the chance to walk down the aisle with him, hopefully we can come up with something."
