Mike De Decker has to hope for cancellations ahead of Flanders Darts Trophy

The Tour Card qualifying tournament for the Flanders Darts Trophy did not produce any additional Belgian participants for the Euro Tour tournament to be played in Antwerp from August 30 to September 1.

Normally, only four Belgian qualifiers will be added to the field of participants via the Host Nation Qualifier. This qualifying tournament is open to Belgian darters without a PDC Tour Card. Still, there is a chance that another Belgian could be added to the field of participants. Mike de Decker is the first reserve for the Flanders Darts Trophy. From that position, 'The Real Deal' has a good chance of eventually making his presence known.

As of this season, the losers of the final round of the Tour Card qualifying tournament have a chance to advance. The ten losers from the final round will be ranked based on their Pro Tour rankings. The highest ranked Pro Tour player of this ten will then be the first reserve for a Euro Tour tournament.

De Decker was the second seed in the qualifying tournament. Since number one Kevin Doets did manage to qualify, De Decker is the first reserve. In the first seven Euro Tour tournaments of the season it happened six times that one of the seeded players canceled. There is a good chance that De Decker will play in front of his own crowd.
