Gutted not to be up on this stage tonight. There’s no better feeling than playing in front of a home crowd 🎯🏴 Missing out on a Premier League spot only makes me want to work harder to get back there 👊🎯 Good luck to all 8 players this year 👏
The Premier League Darts got underway Thursday night in Cardiff. For the first time in years, Jonny Clayton was absent, making Gerwyn Price the only Welshman to play in front of his own crowd.
Clayton made an appaearance as a 'challenger' in Cardiff in 2019, and was a regular participant in the Premier League Darts from 2020 to 2022. In 2021, 'The Ferret' even managed to win the tournament.
But after a disappointing 2023, Clayton was no longer part of the lineup. "Gutted not to be up on this stage tonight," Clayton posted on X, with a photo of the Premier League stage in Cardiff.

However, the multiple major-winner is determined to be there next year. "There's no better feeling than playing in front of a home crowd. Missing out on a Premier League spot only makes me want to work harder to get back there'' the Welshman concluded.
