Mitchell and Evans were locked into a final match and it did not disappoint with it going all the way to a last leg decider but a Shanghai 120 checkout in the deciding leg from 'Scotty Dog' helped to seal it.
For the former Lakeside World Champion, he saw off to claim the night Ritchie Edhouse in a 5-4 victory, Martin Adams also 5-4 before losing to Raymond van Barneveld by the same scoreline just before his deciding tie; before again coming through a decider in seeing off 'Stretch' which meant it was an evening that could have gone the opposite way for Mitchell.
For Evans, it is good and bad going into the final day, he added points to his total which could help in battling Wessel Nijman but a win would have done those hopes the world of good. It will be an interesting conclusion though to the opening week of A Night At The Darts.
A Night At The Darts is a competition that runs in conjunction with the Icons of Darts League. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.
