Monk produces ruthless display against Jenkins, Cole claims first win of the day over Collins

Jenkins first of all saw off Paul Nicholson in a 5-3 win which put him at the top of the table with 3 wins out of 3 at that point as he continued to show the form that he showed often last week to start the competition.

He lost his unbeaten record though to Monk who produced a ruthless display to dispel the former World Championship semi-finalist. This included a 100 average and a 152 checkout for the match from the former World Youth Champion who came so close to winning overall yesterday and he has continued that good start.

The opposite can be said for Cole who started his day poorly with two mid 70's averages and defeats to Paul Nicholson and Andy Jenkins but he returned to the foray with a 5-2 win over Robert Collins hitting an 86 average en route compared to only 79 from his opponent.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
