Luke Humphries can still dream of overall victory at the
World Series of Darts Finals. 'Cool Hand Luke' was too strong for Krzysztof Ratajski in the second round, 6-3.
Humphries achieved an average of 106.74, a level he admits surprised himself. "I think it was just more to the fact that I started so slow and everything was on the wire," the 28-year-old Englishman tells Online Darts post-match.
Humphries comes to Amsterdam well rested after the summer break. "I think sometimes it just helps. I spoke to Dimitri (Van den Bergh e.d.) he's one of them people that loves to practice and he said he was the same he literally put his darts down."
Humphries is eager for a good performance this weekend. "It's been a great year. The World Series has been a fantastic tour. It's a great chance for us to go and see new cities and try and play as well as we can when we go to these places whether it's New York or Poland."
Premier League
Yet Humphries is also already looking ahead to the coming months. "My goal is to be in that top 4 at the end of the season and obviously get that Premier League pick then I can flourish and enjoy it."
