Nicholson remains unbeaten to claim top spot in Icons of Darts League Group One

Nicholson claimed two Group wins last week but did not figure in the overall honours for the week which are what he will be hoping for this time around in his third week in the competition.

'The Asset' saw off Andy Jenkins (5-4), Diogo Portela (5-2), Adam Huckvale (5-3) and finished it of with a 5-2 victory over James Hubbard where he produced the best overall display with a 101 average and 5/8 on his doubles to cap off an excellent day.

Andy Jenkins who is the other player in the group to figure previously in the competition finished second place bouncing back strongly after two defeats. This included a brilliant 5-4 victory over Adam Huckvale with a 100 average and a 136 checkout in the decider.

Diogo Portela rounded out the top three on the opening day with the same win loss record but he lost out due to legs difference after a strong debut day in the competition.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
