Nieuwlaat analyses Searle's new 34-gram arrows: "I don't know any other professional player who throws such heavy darts"

Ryan Searle recently started playing with new arrows. Darts commentator Jacques Nieuwlaat explained more at Viaplay.

Searle recently started playing with 34-gram rather than 32-gram arrows. "There are only two people who have a set of these arrows, Ryan and I," Nieuwlaat said. "I got those arrows from Loxley to show what the idea behind them was."

"Ryan didn't like the way his old arrows stuck into the board," continued Nieuwlaat. "That's why the manufacturer increased the tungsten content in the arrow. The new arrow consists of 95 percent tungsten, five percent more than the old one."

"By the way, I don't know any other professional player who throws such heavy darts," Nieuwlaat said. "The maximum is normally 26 grams, so Searle is really an exception on the Pro Tour."
