No complaints for Clayton after final defeat at New Zealand Darts Masters: "Fair play to Gerwyn, he was fantastic"

Jonny Clayton will not win two World Series titles in a row after losing to Gerwyn Price in the final of the New Zealand Darts Masters 8-4.

But despite losing six legs on the spin to Price, he took defeat and said it was a deserved win for 'The Iceman' albeit that the game could have been different had his doubles been hit to go further ahead.

“Gezzy is lucky I missed those three darts at double 18,” said Clayton, the reigning World Series Finals champion.

“Fair play to Gerwyn. He came out of the blocks after the break and I can have no complaints. He was fantastic.

“I have loved every second of my time in New Zealand. We had two Welshmen in the final, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
