Danny Noppert saw off his World Cup of Darts teammate, Dirk van Duijvenbode to reach the semi-finals of the 2022
World Matchplay with extra incentives for the Dutchman.
"Feeling good to reach semi-finals in a tournament like this. For the rankings, it's good. I'm now in the top ten of the world, it's special. I'm not busy with the rankings but sometimes I watch and I think oh you're in the top players," said Noppert post match.
"He's (Dirk) a good friend of mine. He didn't play his best game, he didn't play his A game. Me either. This game was fighting but I took it over the line."
But on his mentality, he admitted he will prepare like normal and doesn't see it as being bigger than winning the UK Open at this point.
"I don't think so. I prepare like it's a ProTour, I am enjoying the time. I prepare the same. I want to win all the games. Everyone from the start of the tournament believes to win a title but I hope I can bring it and lift the trophy."
