Josh Payne is successfully through to a second round tie with Dimitri van den Bergh after defeating Diogo Portela only dropping two legs in a dominant 3-0 victory.
Despite winning, Payne has spoke of the struggle in practising over the past few months and how personal issues have blighted him as a result.
He added that despite bad form at times, he believes he can return to his best.
"I don't think I played to my full potential there but my finishing was good, I think I scored well but there's a lot to work on. I've had a lot of personal issues over the last few weeks so I haven't practised much but moving on, I think I can practice a bit more and put in a real good run here and who knows," said Payne to LiveDarts at the press conference after his victory over Portela.
"I know I can do better and I can push forward and try my hardest, it just hasn't come yet but I promise you it will come."
"Floor tournaments are a lot different to stage tournaments. On the stage tournaments, I've been trying to find the balance between both. Coming into next year I will be dominant on both."
