Later today, Peter Wright will get another go at winning a major televised title and another at the biggest of them all in the form of the 2020 PDC World Championship as he faces a familiar foe in Michael van Gerwen.

Wright has navigated a tough route but has impressed throughout the tournament with how he has played. He has defeated Noel Malicdem (3-2), Seigo Asada (4-2), Jeffrey de Zwaan (4-3), Luke Humphries (5-3) and Gerwyn Price (6-3).
Most notably Noel Malicdem where he played his get out of jail free card producing some quality to survive a tough test and also Jeffrey de Zwaan where he openly admitted he was on the verge of collapse on stage which is why the comeback happened.
It hasn't been plain sailing in the slightest for 'Snakebite' but he has played well all tournament and barring for part of the tournament has held the highest average ahead of his final opponent.
In terms of statistics, his tournament average sits at 98.29. He hit 57 180's, 30 more than his opponent. 15 100+ checkouts so far this tournament also and has hit a higher double percentage than Van Gerwen with 91/205 compared to 74/170 for MVG which equates to 43% compared to 44%.
