"Price doesn't deserve crowd against him" - Luke Humphries sticks up for rival amidst hostile receptions

Luke Humphries won the first major title of his career last weekend. In the final of the World Grand Prix, he defeated Gerwyn Price 5-2.

Price was regularly booed during the final and cited in his interview afterwards that he would have preferred to have played this final in Wales. "Price doesn't deserve crowd against him," Humphries told Sky Sports.

"He doesn't deserve it. He's played a huge part in the sport growing the way it has. I didn't want that to happen in the final, I was hoping it would be a bit more impartial," continues 'Cool Hand Luke'.

"I think he does struggle sometimes with the crowds and it maybe effected him at times in crucial moments. But I suppose that's just the way darts is at the moment."
