Gerwyn Price began his 2022
Masters campaign with a 10-8 victory over Ryan Searle with a 95 average but he believes it could have been more comprehensive.
"I missed the chance to go 5-1 up, I think I had 25 out but yeah I kept myself under pressure. Probably kept him in the game a little bit but the last leg of that one there I think I hit 140, 137, I put him under a bit of pressure," said Price post match.
Lack of preparation
In terms of preparation though, the World Number One admitted that he hasn't really practiced in the past month or so.
"If I said I'd practiced more than two hours in the past month, I'd be lying. I've picked my darts up three times and I've probably had 20 minutes each time but it shows when you're not playing consistently."
World Championship opportunity
Since that World Championship and he believes he lost out on a great opportunity to go back-to-back.
"I played decent but I still lost and that hurts. I bombed an opportunity even though I wasn't playing my A game. I'm disappointed but at the end of the day, it's not the end of the world."
Premier League
But he is now looking forward with the Premier League in his sights with one player he doesn't want to play in Cardiff who he has next in Milton Keynes.
"I just hope they don't put me against Jonny first game because they might even boo me there. I'm looking forward to it."
