Price thrashes compatriot Clayton to reach 2023 Premier League Darts Final

Gerwyn Price is the first player into the final of the 2023 Premier League Darts in double quick time thrashing his compatriot, Jonny Clayton 10-2 at the O2.

Price will now face either Michael van Gerwen or Michael Smith in the final after blasting past his close friend with a 107.5 average finishing it with a showpiece 131 checkout.

A blistering 11-dart 84 checkout for Price saw him hold and start superbly. A 180 and double 10 saw Price break to make it 2-0.

Price missed 148 on double 20 to hold but Clayton missed 101 to pick his pocket and ‘The Iceman’ swept up to make it 3-0. Clayton was averaging mid 80’s in a slow start and Price went 4-0 up.

He was cruising at 7-1 averaging 106 going three away in double quick time. He hit a 44 checkout to go two away with a hold.

A 180 left 56 for Price to go one away. ‘The Iceman’ missed double 10 but Clayton pulled double 18. Price squandered more darts and Clayton made it 8-2 at the break. Price went one away though and finished it off with a 131 checkout using two double 20’s.
