Prize money breakdown for PDC World Youth Championship 2024 with increased prize pot of £100,000

The prize pot for the 2024 PDC World Youth Championship is bigger than ever. The 128 participants may split £100,000 in prize money. Additional prizes may also be waiting for the finalists.

More players may compete for youth world titles at the PDC this year. The association has expanded the field of participants from 96 to 128 participants starting this season. They will be divided into 32 groups of four players each at the start of the PDC World Youth Championship on Monday, Oct. 14. After the pool phase, the 32 group winners will advance to the knockout phase. The tournament will then continue until the two finalists are known. The final of the PDC World Youth Championship is traditionally on final night of the Players Championship Finals in Minehead. This is on Sunday, Nov. 24.

All participants in the 2024 PDC World Youth Championship are guaranteed 250 pounds of prize money. This is the amount a player receives if they finish last in the group stage. The number three (400 pounds) and number two (600 pounds) earn some additional prize money. The 32 players who qualify for the knockout stage will receive 1,000 pounds in prize money anyway. This then rises further to £6,000 for the losing finalist and £12,000 for the winner.

Additional prizes await the finalists. Both finalists assure participation in the Grand Slam of Darts in 2025. The new junior world champion can also compete in the World Darts Championship. If the winner of this tournament has already qualified for the Alexandra Palace, it does not advance to the losing finalist. An additional World Championship spot will then be up for grabs at the Tour Card qualifying tournament on Monday, Nov. 25.

The winners of the past two Youth World Championships are missing from this edition. Josh Rock (winner 2022) and Luke Littler (2023) have both withdrawn. The 23-year-old Rock may possibly still compete next year because he will reach the maximum age of 24 in 2025. Teen sensation Littler is currently only 17 and may even compete in the PDC World Youth Championship until 2031.

Leading the field of competitors is Gian van Veen, who starts the tournament as number one on the seedings list because he is the highest ranked player in the regular world rankings. His competitors include Marvin van Velzen, Moreno Blom, Nathan Rafferty, Owen Bates, Bradley Brooks, Wessel Nijman, Sebastian Bialecki, Dylan Slevin, Keane Barry, Niko Springer, Owen Roelofs, Danny Jansen, Adam Gawlas and Jurjen van der Velde.

Winner: £12,000 (+ participation in World Darts Championship 2025 and Grand Slam of Darts 2025)

Runner-up: £6,000 (+ entry to Grand Slam of Darts 2025)

Semi-final: £3,000

Quarterfinals: £2,000

Last 16: £1,500
