Richie Burnett captures opening Challenge Tour title of 2024

The first PDC Challenge Tour tournament has been a triumph for Richie Burnett. It is a third Challenge Tour title for "The Prince of Wales," having previously been successful twice at the PDC's second level in 2016.

The 1995 world champion defeated Joshua Hermann (5-3), Michael Flynn (5-1), Peter Jacques (5-2), Conor Heneghan (5-4), Devon Petersen (5-3), Reece Colley (5-4) and Stefan Bellmont (5-3) to qualify for the final. In the final, Burnett was then 5-4 too strong for Darryl Pilgrim.

The Challenge Tour circuit is open to players who participated in the Q-School but did not win a Tour Card. On this tour, starting tickets for the 2024 Pro Tour and Tour Cards for 2025 and 2026 can be earned. The highest-ranked players on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit are eligible for reserve spots on the Players Championships.
