The second day of action at the
European Darts Open continues with
Josh Rock,
Jose de Sousa and
Dirk van Duijvenbode through to the Last 16.
Rock continues to impress with the Northern Irishman who came from nowhere to claim his Tour Card emerging as a top talent on his debut year.
He took out Krzysztof Ratajski in another evidence of that with a huge 115 checkout from Rock to claim it 6-2. This backed up with a 101 average and 50% on the doubles.
While Jose de Sousa as he looks to revive his form survived a spirited comeback from Dennis Nilsson in finding his way into the final day.
He went 4-2 up with a 73 checkout and seemed to be easing through but Nilsson came back to send it all the way but a 180 and double 19 for a 13-darter saw 'The Special One' produced when it mattered most.
While despite not being a high quality affair, Dirk van Duijvenbode eased past good friend, Maik Kuivenhoven 6-1 in a double Dutch duel.
He hit three 180's but struggled on the doubles with 6/20 meaning only an 88 average for 'The Titan' but this was compared to just 1/8 by Kuivenhoven.
