Rodriguez adds second title of the weekend on PDC European Development Tour

Rusty-Jake Rodriguez has continued his fine weekend with another title added to his name at the PDC European Development Tour in Niedernhausen.

Rodriguez added to his tally in Event Two earlier this weekend and saw off another winner this weekend in Niels Zonneveld in the final.

It was a 97 average and a 5-0 success for the Austrian who has continued his development playing all season on the ProTour after just missing out on his Tour Card at Q-School.

Towards the back end of the tournament, he also saw off Joshua Hermann with a 105 average, Geert Nentjes 5-2 and Mike van Duivenbode 5-1 with a 100 average.

There is one final tournament to play this weekend which has just began in Niedernhausen.

The tour is open to players between the ages of 16 and 23, provided they are not in the top-32 of the regular world ranking on January 4, 2021 and it is split between UK and European due to Coronavirus.

The Development Tour ranking is based on the prize money won. At the end of the season, the winners of both rankings (European and British Development Tour) will receive an invitation to the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts, the World Darts Championship and a Tour Card for 2022 and 2023.
