Ross Smith and Damon Heta qualified for the third round at the International Darts Open in Riesa on Saturday afternoon. That means they may return on Sunday for the final day of this event.
Smith managed to win over William O'Connor at the last 32. The latter managed to take a 4-1 and 5-2 lead. O'Connor only got a matchdart in the tenth leg, but could not exploit it. Smith threw out 70 for 5-5, after which O'Connor missed two more matchdarts in the last leg. Smith then completed the comeback by taking the win with a 14-darter.
Damon Heta recorded an easy victory over Callan Rydz in the second round. The score was still 1-1 after two legs, but then Heta managed to win five legs in a row to put a 6-1 final score on the scoreboard.
