Ryan Meikle tops the lot but Cameron Menzies' good form continues with string of high averages during Players Championship 18

Ryan Meikle managed to throw the highest average on Wednesday at the eighteenth Players Championship tournament of the season. 'The Barber' threw a performance of 108.95 in his match against Ryan Joyce (6-2).

The second highest average came from Ross Smith, who produced an average of 108.53 in his second round match against Dom Taylor (6-2). In this match, the Englishman also threw a nine darter.

Cameron Menzies continued his good form and strung together a series of high averages during Players Championship 18. After already posting a 102.49 average in his second round match against Andy Boulton (6-5), 'Cammy' really picked up steam. Against Chris Dobey (6-4), the Scot recorded a 107.93 average, the third highest average of the day. Against both James Wade (6-5) and Damon Heta (6-7), Menzies then averaged 106.66. In between, Menzies also won 6-0 over Jim Williams with an average of 100.20.

Andrew Gilding threw a 107.78 average in his second game against Andy Baetens (6-2), giving him fourth place. Damon Heta peaked at the right time, as he threw his highest average of the day in the final of Players Championship 18. Thanks to a 106.80 average, he outlasted Ryan Searle 8-3 in the final. That average was good for fifth place on the list.

Ryan Searle also showed well with averages of 106.67 and 106.47, while Krzysztof Ratajski (105.94) also managed to throw an average above 105. Chris Dobey began his tournament with an average of 104.82 in his match against Ricky Evans (6-3). He narrowly improved that average in the second round by winning with a 104.83 average against Madars Razma (8-3).
