Ryan Searle throws nine-dart finish against Jermaine Wattimena at Players Championship 27

Ryan Searle provided a stunning performance Tuesday at the 27th Players Championship tournament of the season by throwing a nine-dart finish. 'Heavy Metal' threw his perfect leg against Jermaine Wattimena.

The Englishman had started the tournament with wins over Martijn Dragt (6-5) and Jeffrey de Graaf (6-4) and then faced another Dutchman in the last 32. After nine legs it was Wattimena who was leading 5-4 and seemed to be on his way to victory.

Wattimena got to start the tenth leg, but saw Searle get off to an excellent start with two 180s. Searle then ended the leg with a 141 finish to make it 5-5 with a nine darter. Heavy Metal then also took the deciding leg for a 6-5 victory over the Dutchman.

It is the third time for Searle that he has thrown a nine-darter on the PDC circuit. In 2022, he threw one at a Players Championship tournament, while Searle produced a perfect leg on television in 2023 at the Grand Slam of Darts.
