Six spots remain to be awarded for the quarter-finals at the World Darts Championship. Saturday afternoon, the next three matches from the fourth round are scheduled at Alexandra Palace.
We begin the afternoon session with a clash between Scott Williams and Damon Heta. These men managed to come out on top in the piece of the draw that further included Danny Noppert, Berry van Peer and Josh Rock. Noppert was defeated by Williams, who also managed to win from Haruki Muramatsu and Martin Schindler. Van Peer managed to knock Rock out of the tournament, but he lost to Heta in the last 32. 'The Heat' had won a round earlier from Martin Lukeman. Both Williams and Heta have never before been in the last sixteen at the World Darts Championship, and for both men this is a prime opportunity to even make it to the quarterfinals in London.

Daryl Gurney will take on Dave Chisnall in the second match of the afternoon. For both players, this round is not unknown territory at the World Darts Championship. Gurney was a quarterfinalist at the 2017 and 2021 editions at Alexandra Palace. Chisnall qualified for the last eight in 2017 and 2019 and even made it to the semifinals in 2021. Nathan Aspinall was in this section of the draw, but 'The Asp' was eliminated by Ricky Evans. The latter in turn lost to Gurney, who also managed to beat Steve Beaton. Chisnall settled with Cameron Menzies and Gabriel Clemens on his way to the eighth finals.
Rob Cross became world champion at his World Cup debut in 2018, but since then never managed to reach the last eight in 'Ally Pally'. Against Jonny Clayton, 'Voltage' gets the chance to put an end to this series. It will be a duel between the numbers eight and nine in the world rankings. Cross made the most impression of these two players in the previous rounds. Cross got off to a rough start against Thibault Tricole, but then strongly beat Jeffrey de Graaf 4-2. In this match Cross recorded an average of over 101. Clayton proved too strong for Steve Lennon and Krzysztof Ratajski, but was not yet convincing. The Ferret' will have to play a lot better against Cross to reach the quarterfinals of the World Darts Championship, just like last year.
