Four players are into the Last 16 of the 2022
UK Open in Minehead with
Ryan Searle,
Danny Noppert,
Boris Krcmar and
Ricky Evans heading into the draw later.
Searle who lives nearby and reached the final of the Players Championship Finals last year in the same venue will be looking to go one further this weekend and has a chance of doing so.
He saw off Dimitri van den Bergh in a 10-8 win with a 97.6 average and eight 180's who led 3-2 at the opening break but saw Searle front run from there.
This saw 'Heavy Metal' produce a 100 checkout to break throw before streaking away with Van den Bergh squandering opportunities to level and Searle was throwing for the match.
Van den Bergh dragged it out from there but Searle got over the line with a 78 checkout to seal his spot.
While Danny Noppert held on after starting the tie with a 7-2 lead. He saw Devon Petersen come back but eventually closed out a 10-8 win with a lot of signs of a potential comeback towards his best incoming for 'The African Warrior'.
Boris Krcmar has been in superb form all year and he is into the Last 16 also after easing past Dave Chisnall in a 10-4 win with a 97.3 average.
The Croatian has been building his form on the ProTour and not showing it on the stage but he may get the opportunity to take it onto the Main Stage in Minehead later.
While crowd favourite Ricky Evans is also in the Last `16 with his Ronaldo SIUUUU celebration always going down a treat with fans. His performance did as well with a 10-8 win over Scott Waites to reach the Last 16 for the first time.
