Ryan Searle produced a brilliant run all the way to the final at the Players Championship Finals cementing a brilliant season once more for 'Heavy Metal'.
Searle caught up with The Darts Show podcast to reflect on that tournament as well as where he goes next.
"It's nice looking back, I'm proud of myself. I've had a great year. But I think the right person won in the final and I'd say I've never felt pressure like that, compared to anything that I've felt in the past. It's all lessons learnt," said Searle on The Darts Show podcast.
"There's huge ranking money to be won at the World's so a nice little run there and who knows where I can jump to. I feel like I've still got another gear to click into."
He isn't aiming too high though with goals already eclipsed but still the message of one tournament at a time.
"I take one tournament at a time. If I'm being honest, the goal for this year was just to get into the top 32, that was the main goal. Obviously I managed to do that fairly quickly. The runs I've been having the last two-three months have helped."
"I'm just excited about where things could go. To be in the top 16 already, that was probably the goal for next season so to be there already is great."
Premier League
As expected a lot was made about a potential spot in the Premier League for Searle whether he won the final or not but he admits that he doesn't know if he would be ready for the pressure that the weekly roadshow brings.
"If they offered me the Premier League, I'd have to have a long hard think about that. Not saying I'd turn it down. Do I think I'm ready? I'm not 100% sure, after the semi and the final at the weekend, the pressure was unbelievable."
World Championship draw
Next up is the World Championship and facing William Borland or Bradley Brooks, it is a different complexion now for Searle as a seed.
"They are both great players, both young and up and coming. It's a little bit weird for me now being a seed usually I'm the one aiming at the seeds now I'm the one being aimed at. There's no easy games at the World Championship."
