A deciding set must be won again at this year’s PDC World Darts Championship with two legs difference needed from the second round, with a maximum of eleven legs in a set.
Only when a score of 5-5 is reached in the deciding leg, a sudden-death leg is involved. The bull is not thrown again to determine who will start the last leg.
Last year there was no tiebreak at the World Darts Championship. Due to Covid measures, the evening sessions started an hour earlier than usual. As a result, there was less time between the afternoon and evening sessions hence wanting to alleviate any issues caused by a tiebreak.
