Sedlacek dumps out Humphries, Van Duijvenbode stars with 107 average as first round concludes at Players Championship 16

The first round is complete at Players Championship 16 with the top seeds through relatively unscathed.
Those include Dirk van Duijvenbode who averaged 107 in edging past Andy Boulton 6-4. Jonny Clayton, Danny Noppert, Rob Cross, Ryan Searle, Nathan Aspinall and Dimitri van den Bergh are also through.
As is top seed Dave Chisnall who took out Callum Goffin 6-4. Luke Humphries though will not make it back-to-back.
He jested in his post match interview that he wasn't playing today and after a 6-3 loss to Karel Sedlacek, he may as well not have done. Josh Rock is also out losing to Stephen Burton in the main two casualties of the opening round.

What is the prize money at the Players Championship tournaments?
The PDC has provided a prize pool of £3 million for the Players Championship circuit. At each Players Championship tournament, 100,000 in prize money is distributed. Reaching the second round earns £750. This eventually rises to £12,000 for the winner of the tournament.

- It seems odd that at the World Championship they have dancing ladies in hot pants and pom poms and yet the walk on ladies who were much more elegantly attired get removed from the scene. I met Daniella at Silverstone when she was a grid girl in the F1 race and was very pleasant indeed.
