Mike De Decker has already performed excellently on the Pro Tour this year. 'The Real Deal' has now moved up to 42nd in the world rankings.
Over the summer though, De Decker took it easy. "Since the Matchplay, I pretty much didn't touch my arrows. I haven't really trained since then, other than playing a few tournaments. I had had enough for a while and didn't feel like training at all," De Decker told Het Nieuwsblad.
"It was best to just put those arrows aside for a while and do fun things. So we'll see how it goes over the next few weeks. If I play the pan off the roof, so be it. If I suck, then maybe that was to be expected."
"Normally I was going to travel with a friend of mine, but that didn't work out in the end," De Decker continued. "We're hoping to maybe find something in September. I just regularly went to do something with my friends. My ambition this fall? I'm normally there at the Grand Prix and the World Championship is already in. I would still like to make it to the Grand Slam. That's a really fun tournament, with pools and a lot of prize money."
