With summer almost over,
Dimitri Van den Bergh is looking forward to the most important period of the year that is quietly approaching.
"I had quite a nice summer," Van den Bergh opens to Het Nieuwsblad. "The Matchplay was maybe a small setback, but otherwise it was mostly busy. And a rollercoaster of emotions. The loss of my family is only increasing. I feel good, though. The performance Down Under was beautiful and I have absolutely no fear of what is to come. If I can prepare the way I want, my head is going to be strong enough to get far. I'm curious, but I expect myself to get far here and there."
Move
Van den Bergh has enjoyed time off with his family and will soon move to Limburg. "We did a lot together, like a week at the sea. It was really having fun together. I also went to look at our new little house (near Sint-Truiden, ed.). We put some furniture together and it's already starting to get a bit tempting, having our own home. I can't wait to have our own place. That I'm leaving Antwerp? I'm hardly ever at home, so it doesn't really matter to me. However, it is important to me that my partner is happy. She is now much closer to her family and friends, this way she can see them more because she is always left behind. This is a dream for her."
'The Dreammaker' has yet to qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts. "No, I'm not there yet, so I hope to make a final of a major. Also, I want to win a European Tour event one day."
