Smith on early part of tie against Price compared to other TV games: "I don't think it's the best I've played but it was up there"

Michael Smith claimed a draw against Gerwyn Price but will feel aggrieved that he couldn't claim the victory at the Premier League in Nottingham.

This is due to him racing into the lead and smashing in a 120 average as well as missing a nine-darter, but is it the best that Smith has played on TV?

He added that he hopes that his formline comes back in the next few weeks to time it when he is in the Premier League and he gave his reasoning for not getting annoyed after the game.

"I needed to keep Gezzy quiet, I like him, he just annoys me the way he is on stage. I do really like him, I don't think it's the best I've played on TV. The best was against Nathan (Aspinall) at the World's and I think that was constant scoring and scoring but it was up there," said Smith to LiveDarts.

"I didn't have a bad year, I just had a bad year on the floor. TV wasn't too bad but last week really annoyed me. It's trying too hard again, I kept him quiet and then mucked it up.

"When it does come back, hopefully it doesn't take another 7 weeks, if it comes back next week fine."

"I got told off by the missus because the camera just focuses on me when I come back because they know I'm going to say something bad. They're just waiting for a fine for me to swear, I had to laugh."
