Stephen Bunting has ended the hopes of World Champion, Luke Humphries at the Masters with a 10-7 win thanks some stunning finishing.
Whilst both players started the tie in top form, it was Stephen Bunting who entered the first break with his nose in front. 'The Bullet' averaged over 106 in the first five legs to dege ahead 3-2.
Momentum continued to be on the side of the former Lakeside champion after the break too as he took the first two legs to move 5-2 up. Humphries continued battling away though, hardly playing badly himself and answered back with two straight legs of his own. Bunting took the final leg of the session though to regain a two leg advantage at 6-4.
As both continued to play some quality darts, Bunting getting himself into an early lead looked crucial. Everytime Humphries looked about to restore parity, Bunting would stay infront, none more spectacularly so than with a stunning 146, his fourth ton-plus checkout of the match, to make it 9-7. Despite some faffing on the match winning double, Bunting finally secured the 10-7 win an knocked out the World Champion.
