Dimitri van den Bergh alongside Kim Huybrechts have been the standard bearers for Belgium darts and have anchored a rise which has seen TV numbers, ticket sales and popularity grow through the roof.
Speaking on the Love the Darts podcast, Van den Bergh spoke of his desire for a Premier League night in the country and recalled getting recognized on a flight but that he will never change who he is despite the growing popularity.
"That has already slipped my lips, I've already mentioned it here or there. Like how about maybe a night in Belgium. How awesome would that be, once again they've done the European Tour there this year and within the space of an hour, all tickets were sold again," he said on the Love the Darts podcast.
"More and more people are watching darts. Even today in the airport, I got recognized by one of the guys who works as a steward and they were all like are you dancing Dimi?"
"I'm never going to change the person I am, stay humble, keep my feet on the ground. Try to be inspiring for everyone else."
